This website is dedicated to CSUMB research on freshwater harmful algal blooms caused by cyanobacteria. Currently, our group is composed of faculty and graduate and undergraduate students in the Divsion of Science and Environmental Policy. We welcome others to join us.

We have combined specialities in biochemistry, molecular biology, and ecology to characterize the patterns and processes that lead to cyanobacteria blooms and the mechanisms that allow for the production of toxins in freshwater systems that drain into the Monterey Bay.
